It's the stuff summer dreams are made of. Pemaquid Trail winds quietly along the coastline of New Harbor, through a charming community of year round and seasonal cottages. Within walking distance or a very brief drive, is Pemaquid Beach Park, with its lovely, white sand. Nestled on the west side of the peninsula of John's Bay, the beach offers safe swimming and gentle waves. Just around the next corner is "the little beach," very protected and user friendly for families with toddlers.

Within 3 miles, one can visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse or Colonial Pemaquid Park (fort, museum etc), enjoy a lobster dinner at a fisherman’s co-op or venture out sea kayaking.  Nearby are walking trails on local nature preserves, Hardy Boat trips out of New Harbor, Granite Hall Store (a must) in Round Pond, shopping in Damariscotta (12 miles), Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay (45 minutes) ...

New Harbor boasts a post office, bank, ATM, gas station, ice cream stand, craft co-op and a wonderful, small grocery store – with a surprisingly good stock of meats, groceries and beverages.  Numerous farm stands and restaurants abound, within 5 to 30 minutes' drive.

The cottage, itself, sits directly across the road from the salt water of John’s Bay, showcasing the ever changing colors and sounds of the sea.   The ~1 acre lot is half wooded, half cleared, leaving plenty of lawn space for picnics, grilling etc.  With a right-of-way to the water just across the street, a leisurely sit on the rocky coastline is just moments away.

While preserving the authentic 60's decor, the cottage has recently been remodeled and upgraded with modern conveniences.  Guests will find the comforts of home, including a kitchen stocked with cooking necessities and appliances, washer/dryer, cable and WiFi.  You'll also find a grill, picnic table - and even a ping pong table, in the garage.

Three bedrooms comfortably accommodate six people, and two or three kids could easily “camp out” on the sun porch.  The ground floor master bedroom (ocean-side) offers a queen bed, the back bedroom provides twin beds, and a lovely upstairs bedroom suite (bath and small sitting room/study) with twin beds and skylights, offers the pièce de résistance - glass doors leading directly to the 2nd story, ocean view deck, with soft sea breezes and brilliant sunsets.

(No pets or smoking.)
