Produced by special arrangement with
Dramatists Play Service and Arlene Hutton.

This sweet, romantic, two-person play, first produced by Heartwood in 2011, delighted audiences nightly.  Set in 1940, charming, young flyer Raleigh meets bookish missionary-to-be May, on an eastbound cross-country train.  In three scenes set within a year or so, the two overcome their differences and begin their budding relationship.

"It is beautifully written .... Every line is a heartbeat."  ~ Financial Times

"You could easily enjoy another few hours of this." ~ New York Times

"Nibroc's jokes are funny and its couple endearing ... their emotional struggles ring true." ~ Time Out NY

Kate Hamill's 2017 adaptation offers a reconnection for those who already know and love Austen's 1813 classic novel - and invites those with no prior connection into a fun evening of laughter, plot twists, physical comedy and giddy romance.  Highly accessible to a wide audience, while remaining true to Austen's original intent.
