Heartwood Reschedules "Freud's Last Session"

Due to inclement weather, Heartwood’s previously scheduled reading of “Freud’s Last Session,” by Mark St. Germain, has been rescheduled to February 16th and 17th – adding a second performance, due to overwhelming audience interest. This smartly written two man script imagines a meeting between the legendary 83 year old psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud, a staunch atheist just days from taking his own life (read by John D. Adams) and the young, little-known professor, C.S.

Heartwood Presents “As It Is In Heaven”

“As It Is In Heaven,” by Arlene Hutton, marks the 8th annual “Janu-drama” brought to the Midcoast by Heartwood Theater Company. Artistic Director Griff Braley leads a remarkably tight ensemble of nine women, who breathe life into an 1830’s Kentucky Shaker community,through this powerful dramatic piece. Best known for her “Last Train to Nibroc,” Hutton once more leans back to a simpler place in time.
