Heartwood Presents Pinocchio December 10

For one day only, Heartwood Theater Company brings Pinocchio to life! Saturday, December 10th, marks the final stop of this original production, sponsored by Young’uns of Damariscotta. Heartwood Goes to School (HGTS), sponsored again this season by The First, is an educational outreach program touring this show to Midcoast schools this fall, from Lincolnville to Jefferson to Bristol, delighting thousands of students (and adults) along the way.

This sixty minute, fast paced, witty and funny version of the beloved errant puppet tale is energized and delivered commedia dell’arte style, by a veteran cast of teacher/performers: Elise Voigt of Whitefield, Millie Santiago and Kevin Kiley of the Boothbay Harbor area, and Beverly Mann of Belfast. Suitable for all ages, Pinocchio offers a wonderful opportunity for family entertainment at great family prices.

A small cast of four plays countless characters, represented by a vibrant array of fun costume pieces and props, into which they change, seamlessly, never missing a beat. Underlying the action is a unique, original music score composed by Peter Bufano and performed by Cirkestra, a Boston based band scoring and performing music for big circuses.

Don’t miss this one day opportunity for family entertainment, provided in part by Heartwood’s season sponsor, Bath Savings Institution, and season youth sponsor, Damariscotta Hardware. For a sneak preview, watch the short video on Heartwood’s website at www.heartwoodtheater.org. Two performances will be offered on Saturday, December 10th, at 4pm and 7pm, in the Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy. Reservations are strongly recommended, due to limited seating and this single day opportunity – boxoffice@heartwoodtheater.org OR 563-1373. Tickets are $5/students and $8/adults.
