An Intensive Theater Devising Experience
for students entering grades 5 - 12, fall '25

Students take a deep dive into the remarkable journey of Beowulf, in a highly creative, theatrical setting, supported by adult professionals.

CAMP DATES
(All camp days run 9am - 1:30pm)

Week 1 - June 30 thru July 3 

 Week 2 - July 7 thru 11 

 Week 3 - July 14 thru 16



PUBLIC PERFORMANCE DATES
July 17 & 18 @ 7pm

(Adults $10 / Students $5)

TECHNIQUES
1. Devising staging, movement and physical elements to depict a wide range of epic characters and events.

2. Hands on construction of masks, props, costumes and set pieces.

3. Digging into text to develop strong voices.

4. Creating and applying a soundscape of music, vocals and percussion.

REQUIRED FORMS
Rising 5th through 12th graders should EMAIL OR send completed APPLICATION and MEDICAL RELEASE to Heartwood / PO Box 1115 / Damariscotta / ME / 04543.

No audition is required, but students new to Heartwood are welcome to send
a brief audition tape or a snippet of a performance.
