la manchaSustainable, collaborative relationships - we have built and are accelerating our vision for collaboration with professionals, students, adults, community members, venues, schools, and more. Collaboration engers a cooperative artistic environment, avoids duplication of effort, and enhances efficient delivery of a sophisticated program. Heartwood has become an important player in the quest to draw out the best of the midcoast.

quoteOutcomes based strategic business plan - we continue to follow and refine our mission, while indicators of success include an increasingly diverse audience base in terms of geography, interests and social demographics, steady growth in giving from Friends of Heartwood, early discussions regarding a long term site for the company, highly positive responses from our venue partners inviting continued collaboration, high level of interest from participants of all age levels, and rising anticipation in the community for our new work.

With growth comes a greater challenge - as Heartwood accelerates into year three, we find ourselves on the brink of major growth. With collaboration and high performance expectations as our hallmark, we are creating a substantial performer and audience base, and now we must begin the process of finding a home, while we maintain standards that are perceived as very high for the midcoast. With development as a special focus, we hope to use this year to lift Heartwood to new heights.
